Senior Manager/Director, Financial Accounting
 
POSITION SUMMARY: 
Direct and support accounting department activities in the areas of GAAP compliance, operational activities, financial reporting, financial analysis, documentation and improvement of accounting procedures and processes. 
 

FUNCTIONS OF THE JOB: 
  • Directly supervises one (1) to five (5) departmental employees while providing appropriate leadership, guidance and development.
  • Lead month end close and ensure the resulting numbers are complete, accurate and timely.
  • Responsible for the preparation/review of the monthly financial statements (blue book).
  • Manage the process for fixed assets to include the integrity of recording and reporting, impairment reviews, and the maintenance of related policies and procedures.
  • Lead the year-end audit and preparation of the annual report working closely with the external auditors.
  • Compile and analyze accounting records and other data to explain financial results of business operations, and help identify opportunities for improving accounting processes and procedures.
  • Review or prepare timely updates to applicable policies as assigned.
  • Act as project manager for financial accounting projects when appropriate.

POSITION QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting required.  CPA preferred.
  • Minimum six (Sr. Manager), eight (Director) years accounting experience.
  • Minimum 3 years management or supervisory experience.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, and Access).
  • Experience with appropriate version of Oracle Financials modules.
