POSITION SUMMARY:  
Responsible for performing accounting activities. This position is required to meet deadlines, be flexible to do other tasks when needed and have the ability to work without direct supervision.                                                      

FUNCTIONS OF THE JOB: 
  • Obtain and maintain a thorough understanding of the financial reporting and general ledger structure.
  • Assist with month-end close and year-end audit.
  • Prepare account reconciliations meeting established deadlines; resolve reconciling items in a timely manner.
  • Prepare journal entries and required back up as needed.
  • Prepare reports for ad hoc requests using Microsoft Access, Excel and other reporting tools.
  • Act as Oracle Financial System Super-user, including Chart of Account Maintenance and report creation and maintenance.  Troubleshoot issues and work with IT to ensure testing and application of necessary system patches and modifications. 
  • Prepare ad hoc reports when requested using Microsoft Access.
  • Participate in system testing as needed.
  • Develop accounting policies and procedures.
  • Perform online banking transactions.
  • Work with Financial Accounting staff and other departments on accounting-related matters as necessary.
  • Participate in special projects as needed.
  • Continually updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations.
  • Adhere to internal controls and accounting policies.
  • Maintain high standards through use of “best practices.”

POSITION QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting required.  CPA preferred.
  • Minimum of two (2) years accounting experience.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, and Access).
  • Experience with Oracle Financials modules preferred.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to adapt to changes and quickly learn new procedures and processes.
  • Must be a team player, flexible, open to challenges, and have the ability to interact with all levels of company personnel.
  • Capable of handling multiple tasks while meeting the established deadlines.
  • Ability to understand related accounting policies and procedures.
  • Strong listening skills and the ability to communicate clearly, both written and verbally, in a professional manner.
  • Ability to pay attention to details and not lose sight of the impact at a higher level.
